A Letter To Someone Who is Struggling

Life can be really hard, and no matter how hard you’re trying, if you feel like you are not getting any better, I want you to know that there are people and interventions that can help you. Even if you feel like you just want everything to stop and that ending the pain will make it better, we want you to know that suicide cannot be an option, and we want you to choose to fight for the future that you have so much potential to achieve.

If you feel like you have tried everything to want to live, just know that there is always one more option to choose besides suicide. If you haven’t found the right medication or therapist yet, that doesn’t mean there isn’t something or someone that will make you want to live. No matter how low you feel, you still deserve to live your life and find happiness. At Mentally Strong, we have a contract called “Not an Option” because we want to empower you to decide today that suicide is not an option. We believe that no matter your circumstances, you can find a way to choose your life and eventually find happiness. Our method can help you gain insight into why you feel the way you do and help you rewire your thought process. It might take a lot of work to choose happiness, but it is absolutely possible, and all we ask is that you find the strength to keep trying.

If you feel like you absolutely are unable to continue living, please remember that you are loved and deserve to love yourself. Call a crisis line, go to the hospital, or reach out to a therapist, and most importantly, keep reminding yourself that suicide cannot be an option because, on the other side of the dark place you are in, it is a whole life worth living.
