Mentally STRONG Honors Champions in the Mental Health Community


Inaugural awards celebration Wed. Oct. 20 to recognize the winner from ten finalists

WHAT:
Mental health organization Mentally STRONG presents its inaugural 2021 Mentally Strong Awards Celebration to recognize individuals in the Pikes Peak region who have overcome hardship or who have committed their lives to helping others become mentally strong. Ten nominees from area organizations will be honored, and one will be awarded a top prize of $1,000. Organizations represented include Silver Key, NAMI Colorado Springs, Animal ER Care, Pikes Peak Suicide Prevention, Angels of America’s Fallen, Springs Rescue Mission, Ellicott School District, Amada Senior Care, Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and Cumulus Media.

WHO:
In addition to the award nominees and members of their organizations, other attendees include State Senator Bob Gardner, El Paso County Commissioner Longinos Gonzales, Gazette Editor Vince Bzdek, and school board candidates from Academy School District 20, Colorado Springs School District 11, and Harrison School District 2. The complimentary event is invitation-only. Media are encouraged to attend, and interviews will be made available.
